Shooting in the USA - Summer 1999

This year I was extremely fortunate to visit the United States of America on two occasions in order to work on one of my customers computer systems, all expenses being met by them - nice work if you can get it! Better still, the location was Dallas, Texas - definitely gun country!

On the first trip I managed to get in 2 shoots at an indoor range called "Bullet Trap" - highlights of the visit were shooting the HK USP in.40 calibre and the Desert Eagle in .50 Action Express.

On the second trip I got in another shoot at Bullet Trap but the highlight was a visit to the Garland Public Shooting Range on the East side of Dallas - this is a 25yd and 100 yd outdoor range with about 40 firing points.

Two of the guys at the plant, Harry and Randal, had heard of my interest in all things shooting related and very kindly organised everything, supplying all the guns and ammo for which I am most gratefull.

It gets hot in Texas!

Harry supplied a Taurus .44 Magnum revolver with a magna-ported 8 3/8" barrel and an SKS semi-automatic rifle in 7.62 x 39. Randal had a HK USP semi-auto pistol in .45 ACP and a stainless Ruger P6 also in .45
