The Warwickshire Firearms Club is the one of the longest established and strongest Clubs shooting in the Midlands area. The Club's Rifle section shoots full bore and small bore rifle, black powder rifle and musket while the Pistol Section shoots black powder pistol. The Gallery Rifle Section was more recently formed specifically to shoot lever action pistol-calibre rifle. The Club meets most weekends at ranges in the West Midlands with occasional organised excursions to other ranges, Bisley in particular.

New for 2008 - The MOCOCK CHALLENGE Named in honour of our late founder, Fred Mocock, this is a rapid-fire competition for .22 rifle, centre-fire lever action rifle, black powder revolver and long barreled revolver. |
High Muzzle Energy (HME) restrictions The new regulations regarding HME calibres require that. on every outing, a zeroing procedure is carried out requiring certification by a specially qualified RCO. As we have virtually no members with HME calibre rifles the WFC, with the agreement of the affected member, will not be upgrading any of its RCOs to HME status. To ensure that we stay below the HME limits an analysis has been done of the calibres we shoot and approximate values for muzzle velocity and muzzle energy determined. |
